Move Hails First Clinic Devoted Entirely to Venous Disease in Region.
October 4, 2018, Portland, OR — Inovia Vein Specialty Centers (Inovia) has added Jason Gilster, MD of Portland, to its roster of physicians treating venous disease in Oregon. Dr. Gilster will lead Inovia’s newest clinic, located at Bridgeport Village in Tigard, Oregon.
Leg problems related to varicose veins are very common, impacting over 30% of the population. Originally founded in Bend, Oregon, Inovia’s new second location in Tigard serves patients needing specialty vein care in the Portland area, including Lake Oswego, West Linn, Hillsboro, Beaverton, Sherwood, Tualatin and Wilsonville.
For the last decade as a surgeon at the Oregon Clinic, Dr. Gilster has excelled as an expert in the minimally invasive management of surgical problems, practicing at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center and Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center. Over the years he developed a keen interest in phlebology (vein medicine and surgery) and has been performing vein procedures in his practice at the Oregon Clinic. Effective immediately, Dr. Gilster is joining Inovia and will exclusively dedicate his practice to the evaluation and treatment of patients with venous disorders.
“This is the first and only specialized vein clinic 100% focused on vein treatment in the Portland area,” said Dr. Andrew Jones of the Inovia Vein Specialty Centers. “We are pleased to have a surgeon with Dr. Gilster’s experience and reputation join our team as we expand our services for these patients.”
“Venous insufficiency is a common problem that can lead to varicose veins, blood clotting problems and wound on the legs, all of which can be quite debilitating,” said Dr. Gilster. “In other cities, there are practices entirely focused on the treatment of vein problems, but in the Portland area, this has not been the case. At Inovia we are only seeing patients for vein issues, which allows us to dedicate all of our attention to facilitating the best possible experience for their vein treatment journey.”
Dr. Gilster received a BA in Chemistry from St. Olaf College and then attended Tulane University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors. After medical school he completed his internship and residency in Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgery and also a member of the American College of Phlebology.
