Dr. Lauren Wikholm, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon whose practice focuses entirely on the treatment of venous disease. This includes consulting with and caring for patients with venous insufficiency, varicose veins, spider veins, DVT, and venous ulcers.
Dr. Wilkholm received a BA in Biology from Texas A&M University where she competed for their NCAA Division I swim team, received scholarship awards as an outstanding student athlete, and graduated with honors. She then attended the University of California Irvine Medical School, where she earned her M.D.
After medical school, she completed her internship and residency in Surgery at the Maricopa Medical Center (now known as Valleywise Health Medical Center) in Phoenix, Arizona.
Over the years, Dr. Wikholm has developed expertise in general surgery, trauma, breast surgery and the minimally invasive management of surgical problems. During this time she developed an interest in caring for patients with vein issues and is passionate about helping patients manage their journey to treat venous disease in the most patient focused and minimally invasive manner.
Dr. Wilkholm joined the Inovia Vein Specialty Centers in Spring 2022. She is a member of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, who now exclusively dedicates her practice to the evaluation and treatment of patients with venous disease and performing office-based minimally invasive vein procedures.
She lives with her husband in the Portland area and enjoys gardening, biking, running, swimming, wake surfing and camping.
