Raising Awareness About Leg Health in Central Oregon
This summer, Inovia Vein Specialty Centers proudly participated in a series of community outreach events at the Northwest Crossing Farmer’s Market in Bend, Oregon. Our final event of the season took place on August 30, marking the conclusion of a successful summer of connection, education, and engagement with the Central Oregon community.
Led by Alexa Copeland, PA-C, and JoNathan Denakis, MA, from our Bend clinic, these events provided an opportunity to share valuable information about leg health, spider veins, varicose veins, and deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
A Local Connection: Alexa’s Commitment to Bend
For Alexa Copeland, PA-C, this work carries a special meaning. Having grown up in Bend, Alexa’s dedication to community health is deeply personal. Her commitment to raising awareness about venous health reflects not only her professional expertise but also her passion for giving back to the community that shaped her.
By engaging directly with residents and visitors, Alexa, JoNathan, and the Bend clinical team helped bridge the gap between clinic-based care and community education, reinforcing Inovia Vein’s mission to make venous health information accessible to all.
Reaching Visitors Across Oregon
The August 30th market took place over the busy Labor Day weekend, bringing many visitors from the Portland Metro area and beyond. This highlighted the importance of taking venous health education beyond the clinic and into spaces where people naturally gather. By meeting patients where they are, Inovia Vein can extend awareness across regions and communities.
Looking Ahead: World Thrombosis Day
With World Thrombosis Day approaching on October 13, Inovia Vein remains committed to raising awareness about thrombosis – a potentially life-threatening condition that is often underdiagnosed and underestimated. Global health initiatives like this underscore why local outreach is so vital.
We invite you to stay connected with us for future community events in Bend and across Oregon and Southwest Washington. Together, we can raise awareness, inspire change, and support healthier communities.
